Meldonise, known as Mel, is the founder of Heart of the Hive Youth Enrichment Program, She is a mother of five who has personally experienced domestic violence and homelessness. These experiences shaped her passion for building programs that serve youth in underserved communities. Heart of the Hive was created to provide hands-on mentorship and structured youth development programs that help young people grow, learn, and succeed. Her focus is not the hardship itself, but building opportunity for the next generation through mentorship, guidance, and support.

My journey hasn’t been easy—I’ve faced depression, self-doubt, feeling overlooked, and even a time where I tried to end my life. But I overcame it. Today, I stand as a leader and a living testimony that your struggles do not define you. My experiences have given me the strength and purpose to pour into others and help them see their worth.
